Uncle Sam (a distant cousin of Jamboree Jim) wants you to join the greatest event in the history of Boy Scouts. If you are still thinking about registering for the Greater Yosemite Council 2010 National Jamboree contingent, NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT. The number of available spaces has been set. Once the contingent is fully booked, there will be no option but to be placed on a waiting list. This is not the time to delay!
You already know this is going to be a great experience. After all, it is the 100th anniversary of Scouting in America. What could be better than celebrating the centennial of Boy Scouts at the 2010 National Jamboree with 40,000 of your closest friends?
But, that is not all! You will also have the chance to tour Washington, D.C.; Williamsburg Virginia; Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and more. See Fort McHenry (and the flag that inspired "The Star Spangled Banner"), The United States Capitol, The White House, Mt. Vernon (the home of George Washington), Arlington National Cemetery (see a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier),The National Air and Space Museum (including the Wright Brothers airplane and Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis), Gettysburg Battlefield (site of the greatest battle of the Civil War)... and the list goes on!!
This is more than a Scouting adventure, it is an experience that will shape your view of America and give you pride in our accomplishments as a nation!
Register now! Click on the red button at the top of the page to get started. If you have additional questions, email Jamboree Jim or call the Modesto Scout Service Center (209-545-2130 x103) |

There are still openings for Scouts who want to attend the 2010 National Jamboree as a member of the Greater Yosemite Council Contingent . The number of spaces available is updated regularly in the left sidebar of the Jamboree website. It is important to REGISTER NOW if you want to attend. Troop assignments will be made soon. Available spaces not reserved by June 2009 may be given to Scouts in other Councils. Yes, all those spaces that seem to be available could disappear over night! If you have a friend who has put off registering, encourage them to do it now.
Earn a Recruiter Patch
This exclusive Greater Yosemite Council Jamboree Recruiter Patch can only be earned by asking a fellow Scout to attend the Jamboree. There are 65 of these patches still available. It will be one of the rarest patches created for the 2010 National Jamboree!! Your patch collection will not be complete without this special edition. Fill out a Jamboree Recruiter Form naming a Scout who you think might be interested in attending the Jamboree. Send the recruiter form to the Modesto Scout Service Center. If the Scout you refer signs-up for the Jamboree, you will receive one of these special patches. It's just that easy!
Origin of Patch Design
The Recruiter Patch shows the Rolls Royce automobile and Eccles touring caravan that was presented to Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouts, at the 1929 3rd World Jamboree in England. Money was raised for the car and caravan by asking Scouts from around the world to each donate one penny toward a gift for Sir Baden-Powell.
