2010 National Jamboree

Greater Yosemite Council is proud to introduce our cartoon friends. Each character was specially created for the 2010 National Jamboree by renowned graphic artist Dan Walker. Greater Yosemite Council retains copyright privileges over the use of the cartoons.

Jamboree Jim - Wise Advisor

Jamboree Jim is the "advisor" for the Greater Yosemite Council 2010 National Jamboree contingent. He represents 100 years of Boy Scouts in America. Jim is currently 99 years old. He will be 100 in 2010. We will celebrate his birthday at the National Jamboree. His actual birthday is February 8, 1910. That is the date Boy Scouts of America was founded by Chicago publisher William Boyce.

The cartoon character was created specifically for Greater Yosemite Council by well known graphic artist Dan Walker. Dan also provides the voice for our fearless advisor in the animated website videos.

Scooter Scout - Enthusiastic Scout

Scooter Scout represents all the eager boys who want to experience life at full speed. He loves video games, sports, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family. For Scooter, true adventure only exists in the "real world". He may not realize it now, but someday Scooter will look back and know that friendship is based on shared experiences. Boy Scouts provides opportunities to build friendships that last a lifetime!

Jamboree Jim grows older with each passing year. Scooter Scout is eternally young. If you pause for a moment, you may find that a little bit of Scooter Scout lives in you...no matter your age!

Half Hitch - Loyal Friend

It is the duty of every Scout to be a loyal friend. Half Hitch is the loyal friend of Scooter Scout. While not officially a Boy Scout, Half Hitch reminds us of our duty by his example of unwavering devotion.

It is possible this little dog has more than just loyalty to offer our Jamboree contingent. He may even give Scouts some timely advice...from a pup's point of view.
