Dan Walker

dan-walker-300x400Dan Walker is happy to lend his talents to the Jamboree website. An Eagle Scout himself, he credits his experience with Troop 22 in Greater Yosemite Council for creating some of the richest memories of his life. Dan developed the cartoon characters Jamboree Jim, Scooter Scout, and Half Hitch. He provides the voice for Jamboree Jim. He also designed many of the graphic elements used on the website.

Dan claims he has never done a job he didn't enjoy. He began as a stockroom boy at his local stationery store, became an ambulance driver in Turlock and then in Los Angeles. After college he moved on to become a graphic designer at NBC Studios. That led to the start of his own business Network Art Service: a company that creates graphics for the television and motion picture industries. His professional credits range from game shows like "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune", to sitcoms like "Married with Children" and "Everybody Loves Raymond", to movies like "Nine To Five" and "The Fast and the Furious".

Dan was honored with an ACE Award, which was cable television's equivalent of the Emmy, for his work on "Night Tracks" in the category of Art Direction/Program Graphics.

Dan currently maintains his business in the so called "Industry", but has broadened his horizons with an additional job as a steam train engineer on the Disneyland Railroad. "Trains have always been a hobby with me", states Dan, "and working as an engineer at Disneyland, is like getting PAID to enjoy my hobby." Believe it or not, his initial interest in trains was sparked years ago when he studied and earned his merit badge for railroading.

Dan has also done some acting in television and theater, plus voice over work on a number of projects. He always embraces life, by striving to do all the things he still wants to attempt. His dream is to someday become the "Voice of Disneyland." Dan lives by the motto, "If you don't try, you will never get anywhere."
